Aesthetics and how to "save" the classical music

Here is a great clip; useful for students and educators! It's of Benjamin Zander, conductor of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) since its formation twenty-five years ago.

It uses really all three approaches to aestheticism: he talks about references specific images, connecting to feeling, and explaining the formal structure of Chopin's Prelude in E minor.

He then makes the correlation that if everyone felt the music that way, "eyes will be shining".

I hope my audiences have "shining eyes".

Here's to week one!
